About Bob Thorpe:
Bob will restore our citizen’s trust and confidence within our elections, while ensuring that our Coconino Elections offices are free of dark money, corruption, political bias and external influences. Bob is an experienced business and government professional, who was elected 4-times from 2013-2021 to serve you in the AZ State House.

As a Legislator, Bob represented over 110,000 citizens within Coconino and 3 other counties, was a Chairman of 4 Committees including Technology, and served on the Elections Committee. Bob has decades of computer, database and Information Technologies experience, which are vital skills for supervising the Coconino Recorder and Elections Offices, over 102,000 voter database records, and smoothly managing our important elections.

Bob and his family have lived in Coconino County for 21-years, where he has given back to our community as a volunteer Firefighter / EMT, volunteer at Flagstaff K-12 schools, and helped our veterans and our Navajo and Hopi citizens especially during COVID. Bob has also worked for Walt Disney, Price Waterhouse Accounting firm, Aerospace, UCLA as a computer technology instructor, AZ Home Inspector and NAAR Real Estate Associate, and he founded, wrote software and ran a database software company with national and international customers.

  • Bob has been happily married for decades with 2 adult children, 2 endangered desert tortoises, tropical fish, and their rescued black Labrador Lucy who runs their home.
  • Bob and his wife designed and built their award winning sustainable energy-efficient home, which includes green building materials and construction practices, and solar heat and energy production.
  • Bob completed an AZ State Land Department forest stewardship program to ensure that their thousands of trees remain healthy and more resilient against bark beetles and wildfire danger.
  • Bob’s wife grows an annual vegetable garden, and Bob is starting their first bee hive. They give away vegetables to friends, neighbors and church members.
  • Bob roasts his own coffee using organic green beans from sustainable growers, and enjoys cooking, steam baking and wood smoking food.
  • Bob fully supports and truly admires our Active and Reserve Military members, has received awards for his work for our Military Veterans, and supports Our First Responders: Police, Sheriff, DPS State Troopers, Firefighters and Ambulance Crews.
  • Bob enjoys fly fishing, hunting, and target shooting, including sporting clays with his Browning Citori over/under 12ga shotgun.
  • Bob enjoys the outdoors, skiing, hiking, photography, astronomy and our dark skies designation, metal and wood shop projects.
  • Bob has climbed numerous mountains, including Popocatepetl (Mexico, 17,694 feet), Whitney (California, twice, 14,505 feet), Hood (Oregon, 11,246 feet), and Humphreys (Arizona, twice, 12,633 feet).
  • Bob fully supports sustainable healthy AZ forests and AZ Game and Fish Department wildlife management, and loves to see and hear our diverse wildlife.
